Sorbent booms are used to help contain and absorb oil and other compatible liquids across larger spill areas. Their elongated design makes them useful for surrounding spills, protecting drains or work areas, and creating a barrier that helps limit the spread of fluid.

Oil-only sorbent booms are particularly useful in marine environments, industrial facilities, oil and gas operations, maintenance yards, outdoor work areas, and locations where petroleum liquids may be present around water.

Boom selection depends on diameter, length, absorbency, spill size, deployment environment, and disposal requirements. Multiple booms can be connected or positioned together when larger containment coverage is necessary.
